Preparation for Childbirth
Two unhurried sessions in your home where we turn the unknown into a landscape you recognise — your options, your preferences, your team — so you walk into birth feeling prepared rather than performed upon.
What these sessions entail
Birth preparation with a doula is not a lecture — it is a conversation shaped around you. We begin with your story: previous births, hopes, fears, and the kind of atmosphere you long for. From there we build practical knowledge together, at your pace, with space for your partner's questions too.
By the second session you will have a clear, flexible birth plan, a toolkit of comfort measures you have actually practised, and a shared language with your birth partner for the day itself.
What's included
- Two 2-hour antenatal sessions in your home, scheduled around 32 and 36 weeks
- A personalised birth-preferences document covering every scenario, including caesarean birth
- Hands-on practice: positions, breathing, massage, birth ball and rebozo techniques
- Partner coaching — a clear, calm role for them on the day, not a seat in the corner
- Guidance on choosing place of birth and questions to ask your midwife or consultant
- Phone and message support between sessions until your birth

Common questions
Is this the same as an NCT or hospital class?
Group classes teach the curriculum; our sessions are entirely about you — your history, your fears, your plan — with hands-on practice in your own living room.
Can my partner join?
Please bring them. A prepared partner is one of the strongest predictors of a positive birth experience, and we give them a real role.
When should we start?
Most families book around 28–32 weeks, but it is never too late — we have prepared parents at 39 weeks and lived to tell the tale.
